At a gala event in London earlier this month, surrounded by the best businesses, designers and retailers the UK jewellery industry has to offer, Jersey’s Brilliance festival came away as winners in the Customer Event of the Year category at the UK Jewellery Awards.
A hotly contested category featuring six other shortlisted UK jewellers, the Brilliance Festival organisers Julia Williams Director at Jersey Pearl and Rivolis’ Melanie Mayer Davies, Director represented the group of local jewellers who combined forces in October last year to bring a two week festival, highlighting to islanders, and visitors the depth and breadth of the jewellery offering we have here in Jersey.
Fundamental to the success of the festival was the support from Visit Jersey, through the Visit Jersey Incubator Marketing Fund and main sponsor Rossborough Private Client.

Judges from the Retail Jeweller award were impressed by the ambitious project that had far-reaching and long-lasting results for all involved.

What is Brilliance?
A gem of an idea for an opportunity to work together as the jewellery industry for the benefit of the whole. Created in response as the island came out of the pandemic restrictions. One of the festival’s aims was to remind islanders, and UK clients that Jersey has a rich and diverse jewellery and watch industry. Including award winning designers and genuine Jersey designer-makers; horologists, goldsmiths and gemmologists; multi-generational jewellers and a myriad of internationally recognised brands. In 2021 there were over 30 events, workshops, demonstrations and launches held in shops and studios to re-engage with the public and highlight the expertise our island enjoys.
