Watch Valuations — Is Yours Insured for the Right Amount?
The watch market of 2026 looks nothing like it did 10 or even 20 years ago. If you own a Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, or another prestigious timepiece, there’s a real chance your insurance valuation no longer reflects its true replacement value.
Consider this: a stainless-steel Rolex Submariner bought in 2000 for around £3,000 now retails at £9,000 — and on the secondary market, you could pay up to £14,000 for an as-new example. A Patek Philippe 5711 purchased in 2006 for £15,000 would cost you £75,000 or more to replace today. Brands such as Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille and Piaget tell a similar story.
The question is simple — are you insured for the correct value?
Our Watch Valuation Service
Rivoli Jewellers offers a professional desktop valuation service, providing you with an up-to-date replacement value for insurance purposes. Simply send us the following:
- 3–4 clear photographs of your watch, front and back, with a close-up of the dial — ideally on a white background
- Copies of any receipts, certificates, or warranty cards
- Model and serial numbers
- Date of purchase
- Dial measurements
- A photograph of the original packaging, if available
- Your full name, address, contact number and email address
On receipt, we will issue an invoice. Once settled, a valuation will be sent to you securely. We aim to turn reports around within 7–10 days.
For larger collections, we are happy to arrange a personal appointment in store.
Our fee: £125 per watch (including GST)
