The Alpinist line began in 1959 with watches made for Japanese mountain workers, known as yama otoko. This model has a teal dial based on archive designs, with cathedral style hands, Arabic numerals, wedge shaped indices and the Alpinist logo first used on the 1950s Laurel Alpinist.
The case is 12.7mm thick with a super hard coating, a sapphire crystal and water resistance to 200m. The case back carries the Mountain Device logo, and through it the in house calibre 6R55 can be seen. It has a power reserve of about 72 hours.
