In 1969 Seiko released the Speedtimer, the first automatic chronograph with both a vertical clutch and a column wheel. This solar model reinterprets the yellow dial of the 6139 original, with the seconds hand and the 6 o’clock minute counter hand in red.
The blue and red aluminium bezel carries a tachymeter, with a chronograph seconds scale around the dial and LumiBrite on the indices. The bracelet tapers from the lugs to the clasp. The case is 13mm thick under a curved sapphire crystal and water resistant to 100m. The V192 solar calibre charges from natural or artificial light, is accurate to within 15 seconds a month, has a power reserve indicator and runs for around six months on a full charge.
