This watch reinterprets the 1965 diver’s, the first diver’s watch from Seiko and from Japan. Between 1966 and 1969 the original was worn by members of the Japanese Antarctic Research Expedition.
This version has a 13mm deep stainless steel case, a cove black dial and unidirectional bezel, a curved sapphire crystal and a screw down crown. Hands and indices are coated in LumiBrite to ISO diving standards, and the date sits upright at 4.30. The bracelet has short pitch links and a shorter clasp. The in house calibre 6R55 has a 72 hour power reserve, and the watch is water resistant to 300m.
