The Speedtimer name dates from 1969. This compact model is the first Speedtimer to use Seiko’s 6R automatic calibre, and at 11.95mm thick it is the slimmest 6R watch Seiko has made.
The case shape comes from the 1972 Seiko ‘Panda’ and has a super hard coating. A black dial with grey contrast sits inside an inner rotating countdown ring, with LumiBrite on the reference triangle so the timer can be read in low light. It has a curved sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 200m. The in house calibre 6R55 has a power reserve of around three days.
