The Seiko 5 Sports Field range is based on military trench watches, made to be robust in hard conditions. This version has a khaki dial matched to a khaki pass through nylon strap made from Cordura, a fabric developed for heavy duty military and industrial use.
It is the first Seiko Field watch with a bidirectional bezel with a compass scale, and the bezel knurling has been redesigned for grip. The case is 13.2mm thick with a Hardlex crystal and water resistance to 100m. The automatic calibre 4R36 provides the day and date, with a power reserve of about 41 hours.
